NY State Hall of Fame

Post by Bob Brocius »

I have been playing steel guitar in New York State for 30+ years. In all these years, I did not even know that there existed a NY State Country Music Hall of Fame, that is, until August of this year. I found out when I received a phone call telling me that I had been nominated for induction. Now this past week, I was told that I passed all the requirements, (whatever they are), and I will be inducted on Nov 4, 2001. I am honored and grateful. Also, I do not make this post to "blow my own horn". I am doing it because I have made some friends on this forum and thought they would like to know that something nice is happening.

Thank you all for your kind words of congrats. Just like the induction itself, kind words from fellow steelers mean alot. It sure is a terrific brotherhood, (sister too), that we all belong to. Now, I just hope that darn plaque that I'm to receive on 11/4 is some color other than purple. lol

I knew of the Hall of fame through the active country preservation activities
of Don Becker and Nola Reeves.

Way to go

Congratulations, Bob.

I would be interested in seeing the list of NY Hall-of-famers. I lived in ustate NY back in the 70's and 80's. I wonder if any of my buddies from the Stuben County area are in.

Regards,

Ron

Hey, I'm from Steuben County, but I'm not in the Hall Of Fame Image. I'm not even a steeler, although one of these days I will be. I'm just a lowly guitarist. Is this HOF in Cortland by any chance? I've played the Opry Barn there, and I seem to recall that there was/is a HOF sorta thing there. That was back in the 80's, so my memory is a bit foggy on that.
